This is a source that many people overlook but it is a valuable resource. If there is a historical society in the town you are doing your search, sign up for their newsletter if they have one. There is always some helpful information in them making it well worth the few dollars a year that they cost. One never knows when someone will write an article that relates to the family you are looking for. If you submit a query to the society, and it gets posted in the newsletter, you can connec to someone that you can exchange information with and expand your area of coverage.

Working with someone else has been wonderful experience for me. I found a cousin I didn’t know I had about 7 years ago and now we are both working on the same line, our grandmother’s were sisters. How wonderful to find a great cousin, and to have someone to work with swapping ideas, information, pictures and to just have that one person to talk to when that brick wall just seems so insurmountable.
